OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar or 2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Blend in remaining ingredients to make stiff dough. Thoroughly chill dough and roll out thin on well floured board. Cut as desired, and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees until lightly browned.

While warm sprinkle with granulated sugar.
