VEGETABLE SOUP 
2 potatoes, cut up
5 stalks celery, cut into chunks
2 turnips, cut up
2 onions, cut into chunks
1 sm. can corn
1 sm. can peas (if desired)
1 sm. wedge cabbage, cut very fine
5 carrots, cut into chunks
1 sm. can tomato sauce
1 1/2 qts. water (or less, if desired)
Salt, pepper & parsley to taste
2 bay leaves
1 can chicken stock

In water in crock pot, add all ingredients except corn and peas. Add these 1 hour before serving. Cook all on low in crock pot all day. If you want to add meat--1 pound cut up soup meat. Brown in frying pan. Add to water. Scrape frying pan into soup base.
