FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE | |
7 c. French bread 1/2 c. raisins 3 oz. softened cream cheese 1 c. whipping cream (room temperature) 1/4 c. maple syrup 6 eggs 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. salt Place bread in greased 2-quart baking dish. Press down gently. Sprinkle with raisins. In small bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in whipping cream and syrup. Whisk together eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Add to cream cheese mixture. Pour evenly over bread. Lightly press bread into mixture with spatula. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Remove from fridge 30 minutes before baking. Bake, covered, for 25 minutes at 375°F. Uncover. Bake 20 minutes longer until center is set and top is golden brown. Serve with maple syrup. Serves 6. |
