1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening, softened
2 c. flour
1 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. cinnamon

TOPPING: Prepare by combining all ingredients; set aside.

COFFEE CAKE: Cream sugar and softened shortening. Add egg, flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla and milk. Beat well with mixer. Pour into greased 9"x13" pan and sprinkle with topping mixture. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
