OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. raisins
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
5 tbsp. raisin juice
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. flour
1 c. nuts, cut fine
1/4 tsp. salt

Cook raisins in 1 cup water; boil down so you have 5 tablespoons raisin juice. Let cool. Cream the shortening and sugar, then add eggs and beat well. Mix dry ingredients together and sift together. Add cool raisin juice, nuts, vanilla and raisins; mix well.

Drop dough by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes. Let cool and frost with icing recipe below.

FROSTING:

2 c. sifted powdered sugar
3 tbsp. melted butter
Pinch of salt
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
A little cream

Beat well and spread on cooled cookies.
