2 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. anise seed soaked in water

Beat eggs, sugar and shortening. Add other ingredients. Mix well. Roll out and cut with favorite cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees (preheat) until lightly browned, about 20 minutes. May sprinkle with colored sugar before baking, or frost after. Stores well.
