GINGER MOLASSES COOKIES | |
4 1/2 c. unbleached flour 4 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 4 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. ground cloves 1 lb. brown sugar 1 1/2 c. Crisco butter flavor shortening 2 eggs 1/2 c. molasses Sift flour with other dry ingredients. Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each one. Add molasses and stir in dry ingredients. Roll into balls (one heaping tablespoon for each cookie.) Roll balls in granulated sugar. Place onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes (cook until light brown). Let cool. Then place into airtight container while warm. |
