HARVARD BEETS 
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
2 cans sliced beets

Mix sugar with cornstarch, then mix in lemon juice, vinegar and water. Put in sauce pot and cook until thick. Then add beats; simmer for 10 minutes longer.
