TROPICAL CAKE 
3 c. whole Brazil nuts (3 lbs. unshelled)
1 lb. whole pitted dates
1 c. Maraschino cherries
3/4 c. sifted flour with 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Put nuts, dates, and cherries into large bowl. Sift flour, sugar, and baking powder and salt over fruits. Mix with hands until nuts and fruits are coated. Beat eggs until foamy, add vanilla. Stir into nut and fruit mixture. Put into 1 greased and waxed loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 300 degree oven. Cake must be cooled before slicing.
