ICE BOX COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. other shortening
3 eggs
1/2 c. chopped almonds
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
5 c. Gold Medal flour, sifted before measuring

Cream shortening thoroughly, add sugar gradually and cream. Add well beaten eggs, mix flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, add to creamed mixture slowly. Add chopped nuts, mix thoroughly. Shape into two rolls and let stand in ice box or cold place overnight. Slice thin and bake for 15 minutes in hot oven at 450 degrees. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
