BANANA CREAM PIE 
3 eggs, separated
5 tbsp. cornstarch
Sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
1 stick butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Sliced bananas
1 baked pie shell

Mix egg yolks, cornstarch, 2/3 cup sugar and salt in double boiler; blend well. Pour in milk; beat and cook until thick. Add butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla; blend until creamy. Beat egg whites until thick; add 1/2 cup sugar and remaining vanilla. Slice bananas into pie shell; pour filling over bananas. Spread pie with meringue. Bake at 325 degrees until brown. Yield 8 servings.
