HOMEMADE CRACKER JACKS | |
1 (7 oz.) bag buttered popcorn 2 sticks butter 1 tsp. vinegar 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. syrup (dark Karo) 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. Spanish peanuts Set popcorn aside in a large shallow pan. Boil together butter, sugar and vinegar for 5 minutes; remove from heat and add syrup, soda, vanilla and peanuts. Pour over popcorn and stir until well coated. Bake 1 hour at 275°F to 300°F, stirring every 15 minutes. |
