GUMDROP CAKE 
2 lb. gumdrops, cut in pieces (no black ones)
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 c. applesauce (sweetened)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 lb. raisins
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. hot water
1 tsp. salt
4 c. all-purpose flour

Dredge gumdrops, raisins and nut meats in 2 cups flour. Cream butter and sugar. Add 2 cups flour, seasonings, eggs and soda.

Bake at 350°F for 2 hours in angel food cake pan or 1 hour in two small pans.
