JULIE'S BARBECUE COUNTRY STYLE RIBS | |
1 cup water 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite) 2 cups ketchup (Hunts) 1 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp. sweet pickle juice or vinegar 1 tbsp. mustard 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper Combine ingredients in a medium saucepan. Heat to boiling and stir constantly until sugar melts. Place 4 pounds country style spare ribs in a shallow roasting pan or 9x13-inch cake pan. Cover ribs with the above sauce. Cover pan with foil. Bake at 350°F for 3 to 4 hours. Note: These may be done on the grill or in a smoker; lower temperature to 240°F and cook until very tender (it will take several hours longer, but hey, this is slow food! |
