PENNSYLVANIA BLUE RIBBON CREAMY
APPLE PIE
 
CRUST:

1/2 c. soft butter
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. all-purpose flour

Beat the first 3 ingredients with mixer. Gradually add flour until mixture forms soft dough. Press into bottom and up sides of a deep 9 inch pie plate.

APPLE FILLING:

4 c. thinly sliced apples
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 c. granulated sugar

Layer evenly over Cream Cheese Filling. Dot with 1 tablespoon butter. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup chopped pecans or hickory nuts. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Lower heat to 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
