PA. DUTCH HOT BACON DRESSING | |
4 slices bacon, browned and crushed (set aside dripping) 1 egg 1 tbsp. flour 2/3 c. water 3 tbsp. sugar 1/4 c. vinegar Beat all ingredients together but the bacon. Add to bacon fat and cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly. Pour over green, crumbling in bacon. Serves 6. |

Like so many others on this site, I had to substitute a couple things. 1/4 c. vinegar became 1/4 c. apple cider vinegar. Sugar became artificial sweetener.
I was a bit wary about the egg, but it really added a great flavor and texture.
