2 eggs
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1 1/2 c. flour

Mix everything, except the flour, together by hand. Add flour and mix. DO NOT OVERMIX. Put in pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
