ASPARAGUS CASSEROLE 
1/4 lb. butter
4 tbsp. flour
3 c. milk
2 (303) cans asparagus spears
1/4 tsp. salt & pepper
Paprika
2 c. Med. Cheddar cheese, grated
3/4 c. whole pecans

Melt butter. Stir in flour. Mix well. Add milk, salt and white pepper. Stir until right consistency for white sauce. Put layer of asparagus in greased casserole, layer of Cheddar cheese, layer of pecans and layer of cream sauce. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Bake at 350 degrees, about 30 minutes until cheese melts and slightly browns. Yields 8 servings.
