SOUTH AMERICAN POT ROAST 
4 to 4 1/2 lb. chuck roast
1/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. dry mustard
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. vinegar
1 c. water
1 c. onion, thinly sliced
1 pkg. noodles

Brown meat. Add seasonings, liquid and onions. Cook over low heat or in moderate oven (350 degrees) covered about 4 hours. Make gravy and serve with noodles.

This is delicious, and will definitely be added to my "keeper" file! The sauce is slightly sweet and gives the beef a rich savory flavor. (The next time I will double it, 'cause it's just that yummy.) The only change I made was browning the roast in extra virgin olive oil instead of shortening. I served the beef and juices over Success brown rice with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. Thank you for submitting this recipe--we really enjoyed our meal! :-)
