Add oregano, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and chopped tomatoes. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes. While sauce simmers, cook noodles according to directions on the box and drain. Spray 9 x 11 x 2 inch pan with non stick cooking spray. Spread a layer of 1/3 meat sauce; add layer of noodles overlapping about 1/3. Spread layer of 1/3 sauce; sprinkle all the American cheese. Add layer of overlapping noodles; spread remaining sauce and top with enough Mozzarella cheese to completely cover the top when melted. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until cheese is golden. Cut for serving. This cuts best if allowed to sit for 15 minutes. This casserole retains heat well for covered dish suppers, etc. |
