MUNCHY CRUNCHY GRANOLA 
1/2 c. dried apples, apricots or mixed fruit
1 1/2 c. quick-cooking or regular oats
1 c. raisins
1 (4 oz.) pkg. sunflower nuts
1/4 c. sesame seed
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut apples into small pieces with scissors. Put apple pieces and remaining ingredients in ungreased jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch, or 2 rectangular pans, 13x9x2 inches.

Mix thoroughly. Spread evenly. Bake 10 minutes; stir. Bake 10 minutes longer; cool. Store granola in a tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Use the granola as a topping for cereal or ice cream. Serve in bowls for nibbles or pack in small plastic bags for snacks or lunch box treats. Yield: About 4 cups granola.
