SCOTTISH BAKING POWDER BISCUITS 
3 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 sticks butter

Combine first 4 ingredients, then add milk and stir together. Cut in butter until mix is like small pebbles. Form mixture into a ball. Roll out on floured surface until 1/2 inch thick. Cut out with any type of cutter (hearts or circles are nice). Piece together leftover scraps. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

Try not to over work dough or it will be tough. Top with strawberries or peaches and whipped cream or butter if served hot.
