MARY OLIVER FROSTING
1 c. confectioners' sugar 1 egg 1/4 c. milk 2 to 4 sqs. chocolate 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. butter Melt chocolate and butter over low heat. Let cool. Mix in remaining ingredients. Place bowl in pan of very cold water and beat until creamy.

My mother made this frosting when I was a child in the 50's. We always thought it was strange that she but the bowl with frosting ingredients in a bowl of ice.

It is easy to make and spreads beautifully.
