SPLIT PEA SOUP 
1 lb. split peas (yellow or green)
2 qt. water
2 c. chopped carrots
2 c. celery & tops
1 c. chopped onions
1/2 c. chopped parsley
1 tbsp. oregano leaves
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 ham bone or hocks or sliced wieners

Mix together and simmer about 1 hour.
