SPLIT PEA SOUP 
1 lb. yellow or green peas
2 qt. boiling water
1 med. carrot, diced
2 stalks celery, cut up
1/2 c. diced cooked ham
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 med. onion, halved

Cook all ingredients about 2 1/2 hours. Add water as necessary. Stir occasionally. Rub through sieve.
