SPLIT PEA SOUP 
2 pkgs. green or yellow split peas
1 lb. ham, cut up
3 c. carrots, chopped
3 c. potatoes, chopped
1 c. onion, chopped
10 or 12 c. water
Salt to taste

Put all ingredients with ham in the water and get it to boil. Turn down to low and cook about 3 1/2 hours. Make sure peas are done.
