LINGUINI WITH RED CLAM SAUCE 
2 (7 oz.) cans minced clams
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp. oil
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (16 oz.) can tomato paste
1 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. pepper
16 oz. linguini
Grated Parmesan cheese

Drain clams, reserve liquid. Cook onion, parsley and garlic in oil. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, reserved clam liquid, basil, sugar, peppers and 1 1/2 cups water. Cover; simmer 1 hour. Add clams; heat. Cook linguini according to package directions; drain. Pour sauce over linguini. Serve with Parmesan. 6 servings.
