ASPARAGUS CASSEROLE 
1 lg. can asparagus spears, drained
10 to 12 Waverly crackers, crushed
1 c. cream sauce
Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste

Place one layer of asparagus, 1 generous layer of crushed Waverly crackers, and one layer of cream sauce. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to taste. Repeat until all ingredients are used. Bake at 350 degrees, lightly covered, for 30 minutes.

CREAM SAUCE:

2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 to 2 tbsp. flour
1 c. warm milk or cream

Melt 2 tablespoons butter over low heat. Stir in 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons flour, and gradually stir in 1 cup warm milk. Keep stirring until smooth and thickened.

Cream soup (mushroom, celery, etc.) may be used as an alternate to cream sauce.
