CRUST: 1 1/2 c. flour 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. plus 2 tsp. shortening 1 egg Water FILLING: 3/4 lb. coarsely ground raw beef 2 c. diced raw potato 3/4 c. diced raw carrots 3/4 c. chopped onion 1 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 2 tbsp. water Put flour and salt in bowl, cut in shortening. Beat egg in measuring cup; add water to make 1/2 cup. Add to flour and mix until moistened. Divide dough into 6 balls. On lightly floured board, roll balls into circles about 8 inches in diameter. Place circles between waxed paper, set aside. Mix meat, vegetables, seasoning and water. Put 1 cup of meat mixture on each crust toward one side. Fold dough over and seal edges. Pierce top with fork. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. 357 calories. |
