BEEF PASTIES 
FILLING:

1 lb. ground beef
2 med. potatoes, diced
1 lg. or 2 sm. carrots, diced
1/2 c. onion, diced fine
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. pepper

CRUST:

3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco
7 to 8 tbsp. cold water

FILLING: Combine all ingredients; mix well. Divide into 5 balls.

CRUST: Roll dough into 8 to 9-inch circle and place 1 cut filling on half circle. Dampen edges of dough by dipping fingertips in water. Fold dough over filling and seal edge with a dinner fork. Pierce top crust with fork. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until golden.
