CHILI CON CARNE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lg. onion
1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
1 lb. kidney beans
3 c. cooked tomatoes
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. paprika
1/8 tsp. pepper
Several whole cloves (optional)
Bay leaf
1 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. chili powder

Brown ground beef, onion and green pepper together. Add tomatoes and all seasonings and simmer about 2 hours. Add water or more tomatoes if needed. Mix in beans and heat. Makes about 6 servings. I make about 3 times the recipe and freeze chili in plastic containers. When a frozen container is placed under hot water a block of chili falls out easily for heating.
