MARY ANN'S COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
5 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. ginger
3 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. hot water

Cream first 4 ingredients. Add dry ingredients alternating with hot water. Chill 3-4 hours. Roll 1/4 inch thick. Cut with Spam can (or any cutter). Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes or until done. Frost.

MARY ANN FROSTING:

1 env. Knox gelatin
1/2 c. water
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. water

Soften gelatin in 1/2 cup water and set aside. Boil sugar and 3/4 cup water until it spins thread 12-14 inches long. Add gelatin, let cool. Beat with mixer until spreading consistency.
