MARSHMALLOW APPLESAUCE CAKE 
2 3/4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. applesauce
1 c. walnut halves
Lg. marshmallows

Beat shortening, eggs and applesauce until smooth. Add the dry ingredients and the nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Press marshmallows into batter, in rows, the marshmallows will rise to the top and form the frosting. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serves 20.
