1 c. white flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. sugar 3/4 c. packed light brown sugar 2 c. rolled oats (not instant) 1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips 1/2 c. whole wheat pastry flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 c. butter, softened 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 c. chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a cookie sheet. Combine the flours, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a medium size bowl. Cream together the butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until fluffy. Add the flour mixture, mix well. Beat in the oats, nuts and chocolate chips by hand. The dough will be crumbly. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2" apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Yield: 4 dozen cookies. |
