TURTLE CAKE 
1 box german chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. milk
14 oz. caramel candy squares
1/2 stick butter
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. pecans, chopped

Mix cake as directed on box. Pour 1/2 batter into a greased and floured 13x9 in pan.

Bake at 350°F for 15 min. or until toothpick comes out clean.

Mix together milk, butter and caramels. Melt over low heat. Pour over cake. Sprinkle on nuts and chocolate chips. Pour rest of cake batter on top and bake at 250°F for 20 min. Then at 350°F for 10 min.

Cool; cut into squares. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
