NORWEGIAN GOLD CAKE 
1 c. soft butter
1 1/3 c. sifted flour
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter until smooth, blend in flour. Mix 5 minutes. Add 1 egg at a time. Mix and add gradually to the first mixture the sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla.

Bake in tube pan, greased and floured. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Use icing if desired. Put icing on while cake is hot and let drip down sides.
