1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 1/2 c. apples, chopped

Cream together shortening, sugar and egg. Stir together dry ingredients then combine with creamed mixture. Add nuts, raisins and apples. Bake in 8 x 8 inch pan at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Cool and top with powdered sugar if desired. Serves 10.
