DELICIOUS BANANA BREAD 
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas (4-6)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Cream butter. Add sugar gradually; cream well. Blend in mashed bananas, eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add alternately with buttermilk or sour milk. Blend until just well combined. Fold in nuts if desired. Pour into greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
