BAKED SAVORY MEAT BALLS 
1 1/3 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. applesauce
3/4 c. soft bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 med. onion, chopped fine
Salt and pepper to taste
Flour as needed
3 tbsp. oil
2/3 c. catsup
1/3 c. water

Mix beef with applesauce, bread crumbs, egg and onion. Season to taste and shape into small balls about the size of walnuts. Roll in flour and brown in heavy skillet. Transfer to shallow casserole, pour catsup mixed with water over the casserole.

Bake in 375 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Stir once or twice while baking. Even better when reheated.
