1/4 c. butter
4 lg. potatoes

Melt butter in 9"x13" baking dish in oven, scrub potatoes well, slice lengthwise about 1/4" thick. Arrange potato slices in single layer, to coat them turn them over in the butter. Bake at 475 degrees for 10 minutes, turn them over, bake for 10 minutes or until almost tender. Broil 6" from heat until crisp and tender, turning once. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
