CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. crushed Captain Crunch cereal
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Beat shortening and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt; blend with creamed mixture. Stir in cereal, chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Do not overbake.
