CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
NOTE: This is a "double batch" recipe.

2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
5 c. oatmeal, powderized
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
24 oz. chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) bar Hershey's chocolate, grated
3 c. chopped nuts (any kind)

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Place the 5 cups of oatmeal into a blender and blend until it turns into a powder. (Measure out 5 cups of oatmeal, and powderize only that, NOT 5 cups of "powderized" oatmeal.)

Mix the powderized oatmeal, flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda and add to the creamed mixture. Mix all these ingredients together until blended. Then add the chocolate chips, grated Hershey's bar and nuts and mix until incorporated. Make golf-ball sized cookies and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 6 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes approximately 112 cookies.

ALTERNATE BAKING: Make rounded teaspoon size cookies and bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. This makes approximately 13 to 14 dozen cookies.
