CRANBERRY BREAD 
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. cranberries, sliced in half
Juice of one lg. orange
Grated orange peel

Put juice of 1 large orange in 1 cup measure and fill to 3/4 full with hot water and 2 teaspoons butter.

Sift dry ingredients together, add beaten egg, orange juice mixture. Combine only until dry ingredients are moistened. Fold in nuts and cranberries and grated orange rind. Bake in greased 9 x 5 inch pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 1 loaf.

Cool and wrap in wax paper and place in refrigerator so will slice well.
