CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE AND
FROSTING
 
3 c. sugar
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. shortening
5 eggs
3 c. flour (plain)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
1 c. milk
1 can Hershey's syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together the butter and shortening. Add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Sift together the dry ingredients to the sugar mixture alternating with the milk. Add the can of chocolate syrup and the vanilla. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Let cake cool for a few minutes before dumping out. Let cake cool completely before frosting.

FROSTING:

1 c. sugar
1/3 c. canned milk
1 stick butter
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
