GRANDMA'S SALAD 
1 box lemon or lime Jello (not quick set)
1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drain & save juice
2 or 3 bananas
Miniature marshmallows

Follow directions for Jello. When cool, add pineapple, chopped bananas and marshmallows. Pour into 9"x9" pan and refrigerate until well set.

TOPPING:

Add water to pineapple juice to make 1 cup.

1 egg
2 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
8 oz. carton Cool Whip
Few drops yellow food coloring

Place juice in a small pan. Mix beaten egg, sugar and flour and add to juice. Bring to a boil and continue cooking until quite thick. (During cooking, add yellow food coloring before it becomes too thick.) Cool down before adding the carton of Cool Whip. Spread over set Jello. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Maraschino cherry halves may be added to the center of each serving square.
