BARBECUED CHICKEN | |
2 frying size chickens 1/2 c. vinegar 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. sugar 2 onions (optional) Salt and pepper Texas Pete or red pepper to taste 1/2 c. butter 2 tbsp. flour 2/3 c. catsup 1 tbsp. mustard Cut up chickens and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in roaster or deep broiler pan. Mix remaining ingredients and cook 15 minutes. Pour over chicken. Bake at 375 to 400 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. If evenness in color is desired, turn chicken once and baste twice before it is done. |
