OVEN CARAMEL CORN | |
8 qt. popped corn 2 c. salted peanuts (optional) 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 1 tsp. salt SAUCE: 1 tsp. butter flavoring 1/2 c. white corn syrup 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. maple flavoring Place popcorn and peanuts in large container. In saucepan, combine sugar, butter, salt, syrup, and flavorings. Boil 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add soda. Stir quickly. Pour over popcorn and mix. Place popcorn in large flat pan. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring several times. Remove and stir occasionally while mixture cools. Store in airtight container. |
