APPLESAUCE CAKE 
2 1/2 c. applesauce
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. chopped pecans
1 box dark raisins
12 tsp. salt
1 tsp. each cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg
1 c. shortening or butter
4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix all dry ingredients well. Put in nuts and raisins and coat well. Put applesauce, butter, sugar in a saucepan and heat but don't boil. Pour in dry ingredients; mix well.

Pour into 10-inch tube cake pan. Bake 1 hour and 40 minutes or until done. Decorate on top with whole pecans and walnuts.
