BROWNIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. can chocolate syrup
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Cream butter and sugar together; beat in eggs one at a time; add vanilla; blend well; add syrup; sift flour and baking powder together, then add to mixture; bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, or until it springs back. (Place in 9 x 13 inch pan.)

BROWNIE ICING:

6 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine butter, milk and sugar in saucepan and bring to a boil for 30 to 45 seconds; remove from heat and add chocolate chips and vanilla; stir until smooth; pour over cooled brownies and let sit until icing is firm. (Will frost one 9 x 13 inch pan of brownies.)
