FILIPINO CHICKEN AND PORK ADOBO 
1 c. vinegar, white
1 head garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 bay leaf, optional
2 tbsp. salt
1-4 tbsp. soy sauce
1 chicken, cut up
1 lb. pork, cut into cubes
1/2 c. water
Cooking oil for frying

In saucepan, combine water, vinegar, garlic (1/2 head), pepper, bay leaf, salt, soy sauce and pork. Boil for 30 minutes. Add chicken, boil for an additional 30 minutes. When meats are tender, strain sauce, set aside.

Saute 1/2 head garlic until brown, add meat and saute for about 5-10 minutes. Add to the sauce. Let simmer for about 10 minutes. Serve with white steamed rice.
